Am I losing my hair due to damage or due to natural hair loss, or something else?

I am 20 years old, I have been straightening my hair for 4 years and dyeing every six months for the last 4 years as well. I eat poorly, and I have hairsprayed my hair for 6 months now, my hair follicles have gotten thinner and alittle bit less in numbers, but my hairline has receded alittle bit, mostly right by my ears though. and alittle on my temporal region. Ive researched alot, and found that it could be temporary due to the damage I've done to it. my father, mother, and theyre siblings all had full heads of hair, my grandparents as well, except for my opa, whos hairline was receeded cause he was 86 no one lost hair around my age

so I just want other opinions on the matter

what do you think?Am I losing my hair due to damage or due to natural hair loss, or something else?
anyway as we know hair loss can be caused by many different reasons! Find out the actual cause of hair loss! There are many causes of loss of hair such as stress, poor nutrition ,medications, thyroid dysfunctions, illness, fungal infections ,hormonal problems, to mention a few.

year ago I suffered from hair loss too and I started trying everything you can imagine to stop my hair loss.

the things that really worked for me was:

1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

5) also I used herbal treatment - TrichoZed

It is a good product that helps prevent hair loss and it is an FDA approved product. I think it is very important!

It worked and still works for me!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry TrichoZed but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.trichozed.com/?id=fc7a24

It enhances hair growth by blocking DHT (Dihydrotestostrone) - a major cause of hair loss!

good luck!

not only my and my husband`s own personal experienceAm I losing my hair due to damage or due to natural hair loss, or something else?
Well take a look at the ppl. that you're hanging around with.

(school, work, etc.)

Not to sound paranoid.

When I was 19, I was working as a hostess in a restaurant and I lost a lot of my hair. It started when I would put my hair up in a pony-tale and there were bold spots.

Then it became thinner.

At a point it looked whispy.

I even asked the kids I babysat for since I knew they would give me an honest answer and they agreed that I had lost a lot of hair.

I was really upset and it got to a point where half of my hair was gone.

Then one day, I asked the waitress with the yellow greenish eyes and bright red hair what her necklace was.

She told me it was just a star with a circle her mother gave her for balance in her life.

I told my mom and she explained it was a pentegram.

My mom gave me a blue bead to wear which wears off evil but it didn't work.

We're Catholic but my mom does believe in this to a certain extent.

I decided to leave the restaurant and never look back.

My face was also really dry...to the point where my liquid cover-up would not blend in my face.

It looked like I put a load of makeup on my face.

I even stopped wearing makeup for a while.

My hair grew back and my face became soft again since skin sheds.

I don't know if I really believe witchcraft is real but I got my beauty back after I stopped working there.

Its just something to think about.

So if you are around ppl. who practice witchcraft or believe in that as their religion, get away from them.

Sorry if I creeped you out but this is just my experience and wanted to share it with you.

Just because you eat poorly does not mean your hair will fall out.

I ate more after high school and this happened to me.

Never in high school when I barely ate anything.
Well to start off, you lose about 100-150 (tops) hairs every day. Hair sheds naturally, especially with age too, however I personally think you're still young enough and shouldn't be having these problems. I recommend getting some vitamins in you, at least take a multivitamin every day, if you don't want to eat enough. It could also be stress, and personal lifestyles, like smoking/drinking heavily. When it comes to damage, it can also play a big role when it comes to how your hair sheds, and the quality. Start buying hair treatments (try getting some with natural ingredients) and stop straightening your hair so much. Don't use so much chemicals on your hair, and make sure you use heat protective sprays/balms before styling/using hot tools.

I recommend these vitamins that you can get at Sephora or maybe other beauty stores:
