Can sleeping too much cause hair loss?

my friend who is 20 was in a situation where all he could do was eat sleep and take showers for about a month. He told me that he started to lose hair from his sleeping on the same side of his head. is this possible? will the hair in that area ever grow back or will it stay bald forever? someone please help! Can sleeping too much cause hair loss?
no - actually it can not be possible...Can sleeping too much cause hair loss?
Well if you are in bed a lot the weight of your head against the pillow can pull the hair out or break it off. The only way to stop hair growth is to damage or destroy the follicle. So it is possible, just like a great deal of women have those strange, short hairs around their hairline, that is from pulling it back too much. But this is only permanent from prolonged pressure on the follicles, a month would not be enough to do it.
A bit, not because he/she is sleeping too much. It's that when your sleeping your head including your hair needs oxygen too. So if you are always sleeping on one side of your head that side of your head will start to loss hair because of lack of oxygen. So yea it is possible. The hair should grow back in a while but there are no guarantee that it might.
His hair could be thinning for many different reasons so he should see a dermatologist. An office visit with a dermatologist will probably cost around $75 if he doesn't have insurance. You can find more information about treatments that work at the links below.
If you're friend is losing his hair, it is because he is genetically predisposed, meaning that hair loss runs through his family. There is no way that excess sleep can cause someone to go bald.
