i have lately developed a problem with dandruff and hair loss... any remedies to prevent both?

also is the dandruff a cause of my hair loss?How can u prevent hair loss?
looks like you need to take more vitamins and minerals!

and massage your scalp with oil!

anyway as we know - hair loss can be caused by many different reasons! Find out the actual cause of hair loss! There are many causes of loss of hair such as stress, poor nutrition ,medications, thyroid dysfunctions, illness, fungal infections ,hormonal problems, to mention a few.

year ago my husband suffered from hair loss too and he started trying everything you can imagine to stop his hair loss. the things that really worked for him was:

1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

5) also he used herbal treatment - TrichoZed

It is a good product that helps prevent hair loss and it is an FDA approved product. I think it is very important!

It worked and still works for him!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry TrichoZed but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.trichozed.info/why.php

It enhances hair growth by blocking DHT (Dihydrotestostrone) - a major cause of hair loss!

good luck!

Dandruff is one of the most common ailments today and plagues countless millions of people every single day. Dandruff is easily recognizable by the white flakes that appear in the hair and then on the shoulders. It is often accompanied by a chronic itching of the scalp and can be caused by any number of things. Luckily, you can prevent dandruff or clear it up quickly without much expense and usually without having to seek medical attention.

1. Shampoo your hair on a regular basis. Shampooing is often the easiest and most effective way to prevent dandruff. It cleans your hair, invigorates follicles, reduces the oily buildup that can lead to embarrassing dandruff flakes and prevents excess cells from accumulating on your scalp.

2. Spend some time each day outdoors in the sunlight. Human skin needs sunlight in order to produce certain essential vitamins and the skin of your scalp is no exception. Getting just a little sun on your scalp each day will help keep it healthy, but you must be careful to avoid sunburn--just like with any other part of your body.

3. Stop using styling products in your hair, or at the very least reduce the amount and frequency of use. All styling products, from gels to sprays, will contribute to the build up of oil on your scalp, and the more you use the more you will contribute to dandruff.

4. Exercise regularly and eat a well-balanced, healthy diet. Proper nutrition and exercise are two of the most important things you can do for your health and should be part of a comprehensive plan to combat any health problem, even something as commonplace and non-life threatening as dandruff.

5. Research homeopathic and all-natural methods for reducing dandruff. Natural remedies for dandruff can include things like tea tree oil-based shampoos or getting the right amount of zinc in your diet.

6. Prevent dandruff with the use of special dandruff shampoos. Medicated dandruff shampoos are plentiful and are regularly available at almost all pharmacies or grocery stores. There are many different brands of over-the-counter dandruff shampoos (though most have the same active ingredients). Using a dandruff shampoo as directed for a period of time should clear it up without much hassle.

7. Talk to your doctor about getting a prescription dandruff shampoo and discuss other ways to prevent dandruff if the problem persists and over-the-counter dandruff shampoos don't clear it up.

Hair loss occurs for a wide range of reasons, such as poor nutrition, illness, and stress. However, it is most commonly due to genetics. Some individuals are more prone to hair loss than others. While hair loss is more common in men, women experience it as well. There are various things you can do to discourage hair loss. In most instances, you will not be able to stop it but you can slow it down with careful treatment.

1. See your doctor. In some instances, hair loss may be due to hormonal imbalances or fungal infections. Your doctor can prescribe medication to either stabilize your hormone levels or treat the infection. In other instances, hair loss may be due to an underlying disease, such as diabetes or lupus. It's important for your doctor to rule out this possibility before you proceed with hair loss treatments.

2. Check your medications. Hair loss is a common side effect of various medications. If you are experiencing hair loss due to a particular medication, the hair loss should subside once you stop taking the medication. Talk to your doctor about alternative medications.

3. Try hair loss medication. Most require a doctor's prescription. Usually taken orally, these medications help to stop hair loss. You can also try an over-the-counter topical treatment for hair loss, such as Rogaine. With both prescription and over-the-counter hair loss medication, you must continue using the treatment to get results.

4. Use firm pressure to massage your scalp daily for approximately 5 minutes. Massage encourages circulation, allowing essential nutrients and blood to reach hair follicles, which helps them function properly and may stimulate latent hair follicles to grow hair again.

5. Eat a well-balanced diet. Poor nutrition can contribute to hair loss. Make sure you get adequate nutrition daily, preferably from fresh food sources. You can also supplement your diet with a daily multi-vitamin.

6. Take Biotin. This natural nutrient supports hair health and can slow hair loss. Take 50 mg of Biotin 3 times per day for best results. You can take it in supplement form, though it also occurs naturally in various foods, such as green peas, oats, and walnuts.

Hope that helped :)
You probably are experiencing vitamin/mineral deficiency and need to get yourself checked by a physician. However until then...you may want to start yourself on a multivitamin that contains iron...try to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day...also try taking Biotin..its great for hair and nails. For your scalp...it is a dermatologists that you would need to consult. But something you could also do in the meantime is shampoo your head with a shampoo product that contains zinc oxide..then another one that contains selenium sulfide..and one that contains tar. Do all 3 back to back 1 time daily for 2 weeks. Use a LIGHT rinse-out conditioner afterwards. Usually this works...if not.. it is then that you may need a prescription for something more effective.
Yes it is one of the cause for hair fall. To keep dandruff away, take a tablespoon of lemon juice with 2 tablespoon of coconut oil, massage it well on scalp and hair regularly.Wash your hair with warm water. More simple remedies for dandruff at http://usefulinfo-dandruff.blogspot.com/
