How to make you hair thicker and longer:

%26gt; Refrain from straightening/heating your hair - it breaks hair and thins it.

鈥ou can help by using really good conditioners and deep conditioning treatments, to help your hair grown longer and stay healthy. Don't do too much heat styling (blow drying, curling, etc.). For the thickness, maybe try products like Nioxin. Or before styling after your shower, use KMS's Volume/Thickening cream products. They seem to work well. The main thing about it is keeping your hair healthy and free of split ends and dryness. Use good conditioning products if you must use heat on your hair on a regular basis.

Here is more advice:

鈥se nixon it will thicken your hair and make it grow faster. Also take a vitamin called biotin good for hair, nails and skin.

鈥at and drink tons of vitamins. What helped me SO MUCH was Yoplait nouriche SuperSmoothie. It's Amazing! My hair is a lot thicker, longer and shiner. People have even pointed it out. My nails have grown much longer to.

鈥o, like all living tissue, they can be nourished by vitamins minerals and other nutrients, which are carried by your blood. There are specific products on the market which target hair growth, but any quality multivitamin will help.

鈥ut the tip that works best is to INCREASE CIRCULATION, either by standing on your head, brushing vigorously or by massaging your scalp. Doing this in several 10 minutes segments throughout the day will yield the most benefits to anyone wishing to improve the quality, thickness and texture of their hair. It does wonders for your complexion too.

鈥ctually too much brushing cases hair to break... so I wouldn't do it. By massaging the roots helps a lot.

鈥se Mane-N-Tail shampoo, its suppose to be used for horses but humans use it to, you can find it at Wal-mart, it makes my hair grow really fast..

鈥ake a protein content food and do regular trimming avoid chemical based shampoo and treatment avoid hot iron rollers and curlers

It is best to eat a healthy diet consisting of fiber and calcium. It is also key to exercise regularly and stray away from consuming alcohol or smoking. Regular trims are important (about every 6-8 weeks.) It is also important to massage the scalp and do not over shampoo! This cleans out your sebaceous glands and restricts the natural flow of your own oils.

鈥utting off the ends of your hair doesn't actually help. What you need to do is take a multivitamin. They make Hair, Skin and nail vitamins that help your Hair grow. If you consistently take those it will help. Also try not to wash your hair everyday it will strip your hair off the oils and nutrients that help it grow. And if your gentle with your hair that will help for example instead of putting your hair in a tight ponytail try a braid.I'm a 15 year old girl and my hair is becoming really thin .. can someone please help me?
To me, thin hair looks better, and it doesn't mean it's falling out. However, if it is falling out then it's a iron deficiency problem. Do you have heavy periods? If so, tell your DOC because lack of iron in the blood affects hair loss.

Even if you don't have heavy periods, you may have low levels of iron. Get a blood test done.
I am quite sure your hair has thinned out from the meds you used to take (if in fact it started happening during use)

I say give your hair some more time to re-cooperate. If all else fails, see your doctor again. It is a known fact that for ';some'; people who are on meds, their hair starts to shed (thin out) Good luck.
If you wash your hair with hot water, discontinue immediately.

Use cold water, not even lukewarm.

Try only washing your hair 2-3 times a week instead of everyday.

Additionally, put baby oil in your hair and leave it overnight the day before you are going to wash it.

Do not use conditioner. It makes your hair thinner.

Do not use any heat on it or any hair spray.
I think your hair is suffering because you are having neutritional deficiencies. Hair and teeth as well as skin can suffer because of poor nutrition. Take vitamins, eat healthier, and drink lots of water. You could ask a pharmacist for suggestions or go to a health food store and ask them. or just go to a doctor or nutritionist.
I had the same issue. If you have access to it get pure almond oil and put it in your hair every night before you sleep and wash it out in the morning. within a couple of months my hair was back to normal. it does smell bad, but it works wonders!
Buy shampoo and conditioner that restores hair breakage like Pantene Pro-V RESTORATIVE or dove something.

When you straighten your hair you protective spray like Tres Semme that stuff is good.

What caused it was you straightening your hair soo much...
It sounds like diet. Make sure you are eating a lot of protein, which is great for hair and nails. Vitamins take time and are NEEDED in every diet. Please keep taking them.
Do you eat properly? If you don't get enough nutrition and don't fuel your body with food your hair falls out.
find the name of the medicine you took and search the side effects for it on the internet
go see a doctor
do you have any bald spots? im 17 and last year this happened to me, my hair started falling out and all my eyelashes fell out and it left me feeling like a freak with bald spots. i went to one doctor (flippin idiot) who said wow thats weird! and it took my mother months to find me another. i ended up going to a dermatologist and found out i have alopecia areata. which is common and not deadly. you should go to a deratologist and get it checked.
was your hair shaved when you were around 2 years old?

if it was then your hair should be thick and richer if not then your hair would be thin and fall out at a young age.

also if you shave your hair now it will grow back thicker, that's why celebrates shave their hair and wear a wig for few months (its because their hair is so damaged from the straightening and curling and dying).
I am quite surprised that out of all of the answers, only two have touched on what could realistically be causing this.

Firstly vitamins may help strengthen hair but won't help hold it in, however I feel that they are essential for anyone in their teens and twenties, an age range who don't particularly eat well and aren't known for treating their bodies well, so taking some is not a bad idea at all but don't expect it to solve these problems.

Without seeing the actual pattern in which your hair is falling out I cannot give you an exact answer on what this is but I have a few ideas which can all be checked.

First, and the most likely at your age, Alopecia. This is a condition which we know very little about and causes hair loss. It is usually found in people with high stress levels, and I would imagine being 15 having to take medication for a kidney problem does have a lot of stresses. There are two main types which may be effecting you, Alopecia areata totalis which is where all the hair on your scalp (including eyebrows - as described by another answerer) is susceptible to falling out in patches or completly. The other version is Alopecia areata universalis in which the same happens but it is all hair across your body - including pubic hair.

Alopecia can be helped with shampoos and conditioners but the best way to stop it would usually be remove the cause, so if its stress due to being bullied, moving schools can help.

Second option, thyroid. Your thyroid gland is possibly under active, a condition called hypothyroidism. This would likely be the case if your skin is becoming rough and maybe flaky, weight gain, suffer constipation and your periods getting heavier, if you think any of these sound familiar you will need your doctor to do a blood test and check your T4 and TSH which are thyroid hormones which can suggest if someone is suffering from hypothyroidism. This is a very manageable condition.

Third option, could be as has been suggested side effect of your kidney medication, but I wouldn't have thought so but check the label just to be sure.

Forth option, slightly based on the third but very unlikely is poisoning. That's not deliberate someone trying to kill you but could be something in the environment around you or in your house, if you start to suffer vomiting without any obvious cause and generally getting sicker and sicker then it could be this, so talk to the other people you live with and spend the most time with, if their hair is going the same way it could be that, for example from a house fumigation or cadmium poisoning, a contamination of the water supply in your house, rat poison but as I said this one is pretty much only a possibility if it's effecting other people around you too.

If you have any more questions or want anymore help and advice feel free to add me as a contact/email me
I think you should see your doctor and go over your medical history and have a thorough medical exam done. This could be in part due to the kidney medications and my dear the vitamins don't work overnight, it takes time, atleast 3 months to see any difference. I would also recommend from my personal experience that fish oil (capsules) help alot with prevention of hairloss, but you have to be patient and give it time to work and religiously take 1 pill a day.

Good Luck :)
anyway as we know hair loss can be caused by many different reasons! There are many causes of loss of hair such as stress, poor nutrition ,medications, thyroid dysfunctions, illness, fungal infections ,hormonal problems, to mention a few.

year ago I suffered very much from dandruff and hair loss too and I started trying everything you can imagine to stop my hair loss.

the things that really worked for me was:

1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

5) also he used herbal treatment - TrichoZed or Provillus (do not use Rogaine - it will not work!)

Those are a good products that helps prevent hair loss and contains Biotin and the clinically tested ingredients approved by the FDA to help re-grow your hair.! I think it is very important!

It worked and still works for me!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry TrichoZed but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here

http://www.trichozed.info/ingredients.ph

(TrichoZed鈩?will produce noticeable hair growth in 30 to 45 days. A consistent use of TrichoZed鈩?ensures permanent results within 6 months. Further use shall maintain optimal health of your hair.)

and here

http://www.provilluss.info

(Provillus鈩?will produce noticeable hair growth in 40. A consistent use of TrichoZed鈩?ensures permanent results within ~5 months.)

It enhances hair growth by blocking DHT (Dihydrotestostrone) - a major cause of hair loss!

good luck!

not only my own personal experience + working as a family physician
Go to the doctor again. This could be a serious health problem, even cancer! Go!

I'm sorry I can't be of further assistance, but it sounds like it could be a serious health problem. There is all kinds of reasons for hair loss in women, and usually it's a health problem. Especially if you're so young. Go!
