Hair loss in cats...?

Hi.





We have 2 cats, both around 3 yoa, and one of them has been slowly loosing hair for about a year now.





It was hardly noticeable at first, and I thought it was caused by climbing in and out of somewhere for example.





However, he has now lost most of the hair from his abdomen and is starting to lose hair from the insides of his hind legs.





Due to personal circumstances we are unable to get him to the vets for about another 7 days or so, and we wonder what it could be.





It does not cause him distress from what we can tell.





He does however suffer from fleas whatever we do, could that be the reason ?





Any ideas ?

My first thought would be a flea allergy! if it aint treated youll probably notice scabs appear eventually! It could be a mite under the skin as well!


I had this problem with my animals a year or so ago! if it was a dog i could advice something a ';old'; friend who was a vet advise me to by otc! but I dont know if you can use it on cats! so i wont advice it! if you cant get to your vet go to any vet and buy stronghold flea treatment! it treats alot more than just fleas (INCLUDING the home after 4 weeks) and I highly reccomend it to anyone who has a dog or cat who suffers rom a lot of parisites as it does alot!Hair loss in cats...?
Take him to the vet. It could be from a lot of flees and the cat is scratching its hair out, or it could be sick. Best thing to do is take him to the vet, I'm sure you wouldn't want your cat to die from something that could have easily been prevented.
