How do I safely wean off birth control?

I have been taking Reclipsen (generic for Desogen) for about 3 1/2 years now. I am 24 but do not plan on conceiving a child anytime soon. I was originally on the pill to try to correct some hormone deficiencies but it did not help. I am experiencing some hair loss and no libido, which is why I want to come off of it. I tried to stop the pill about 6 months ago, I just stopped taking them. This caused me to become extremely agitated, aggressive, and emotional. I went to my MD and he told me that I shouldn't have stopped taking them cold turkey. He then put me back on them. What should I do? Any Rn's, MDs, etc that can help me?How do I safely wean off birth control?
year ago my husband suffered very much from dandruff and hair loss too and he started trying everything you can imagine to stop his hair loss. the things that really worked for him was:

1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice (you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

5) also he used herbal treatment - TrichoZed and Provilluss (do not use Rogaine - it will not work!)

Those are a good products that helps prevent hair loss and contains Biotin and the clinically tested ingredients approved by the FDA to help re-grow your hair.! I think it is very important!

It worked and still works for him!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry TrichoZed and Provillus but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here

(TrichoZed鈩?will produce noticeable hair growth in 30 to 45 days. A consistent use of TrichoZed鈩?ensures permanent results within 6 months. Further use shall maintain optimal health of your hair.)

and here

(Provillus鈩?will produce noticeable hair growth in 40. A consistent use of TrichoZed鈩?ensures permanent results within ~5 months.)

It enhances hair growth by blocking DHT (Dihydrotestostrone) - a major cause of hair loss!

why didn't you just tell your doctor to start decreasing your dose while you were there? that would have been the logical thing to do.
I've never heard of ';weaning'; off of birth control pills. Whatever symptoms you had when you stopped the birth control should not last very long (1 full cycle or less). There's no medical reason you can't stop cold turkey if you can deal with the rare side effects you're experiencing. Perhaps your hormone imbalance is something more than the doctors have tested for? If your doctor thought it was a good idea to wean off of them instead of cold turkey, then he should have given you instructions on how to do that, because I've honestly never heard of it and my experience as an RN in womens health was quite a few years.

With the hair loss and other symptoms, I'm wondering if your doctor ever did any thyroid testing, which can also cause the symptoms you're experiencing.
One common problem that happens is this. I have been there and done that. You have to figure out what it is first that is destroying your sex drive. If your on medication like birth control or anti-depressants that is something to think about and do research on. Other then that it could just be stress, maybe the kids, really anything that makes your life stressful can do this and lower the libido.

One thing I tried that seemed to work while I was doing it was exercising. I just felt sexier doing it which kind of boosted my libido. However it wasn't the best solution for me. My friend told me about these herbal enhancers that are made from natural herbs and don't cause any side effects besides having wild sex. She said it's the female version of viagra. I had to find out.

I would always have a weak orgasm too (if I had one at all), which after trying this sex enhancer, it boosted them tremendously. I don't get multiple orgasms but I've had plenty since being on these herbs. It's seriously like the best vibrator ride you've ever experienced. These things make me horny all the time, some days I don't even take them because the urge is just too strong.

Don't try out single herbs because they don't do it like the blend of herbs these scientists and researchers pick out. I've tried a couple of them by itself and they did crap. The stuff that I'm on is called Hersolution, at the time I saved money on it at herenhancement.com . Make sure you get the 3 month supply that way you fall under the guarantee/return policy if the herbs don't work for you, you can return them with no questions ask. I bet they will work though and you won't have any problems. Also if your on medication of any sort, check out the gel because if your like me, you wouldn't want to swallow any thing that might react with the medications your already on.

Well have a good day and hopefully you solved your problem.
