Hairloss by hypothyroid or natural?

Okay first off all, for 18 years of my life i never really had much hair loss during showers, rarely even 2 strands or rather that i have noticed, when i hit 19 i started to lose a lot of hair in the shower, my hair became lifeless and flat and also dry. Had a blood test and it showed i had thyroid problems (have other systems but this is about hair), its been 1 year and month now, i been on the thyroid med for 3 months only tho since my previous doctor didn't want to prescribe anything to make me feel better however im still losing that amount of hair in the shower, hair has abit more volume now tho however my hair strands itself differ from each other, some a thin and curl, im asian and i have straight hair but some a really thin and curl.

My question is,

1) When people say their hair is thinning do they mean, cause i never know if they meant if they have less hair or each strand is thinning, (used to have a lot of hair but most of it is gone)

2) So is this thyroid problems? i read people who go back into normal blood TSH can have underlining thyroid problems, my last test it showed my T4 and TSH are back to normal but i read you should also test T3?

3) Can hair grow back after the med? i do see new hair growing out but the rate i lose is just mad.

4) I know its normal to lose 50-100 hair a day but thats a average right? it will differe between people and normal is what you normally have not that average right?

5) How can i determine whats going on with my hair? i eat very healthy %26gt;5 portion or fruit and veg.

I know i asked for a lot of information but if someone can answer that would be very much appreciated because i have asked a lot of questions on here in the past related to this topic but a lot of people just answered for the sake of getting points, so it be very nice if people can answer for helping someone rather then just for points

Wow... this is a big enchilada, but I'll do my best!

1) When people say their hair is thinning, what they really mean is that they are losing hair (balding)

2) Thyroid problems definitely cause hair loss. You may need an actual thyroid panel, which gives more detailed information about thyroid function, as opposed to a generalized test.

3) Yes, your hair can grow back, but it may take 6 months to a year for very noticeable results.

4) Yes, it is normal to lose hair every day, but everyone is different depending on hair type, genetics and physical make-up

5) See an endocrinologist for a full thyroid panel. If insurance will pay (or if you can afford it), you may also visit a dermatologist to have your scalp examined.

Make sure you are taking a quality multi-vitamin, because your hair needs vitamins A, C, E and all the B's to be healthy. Most health food stores will carry vitamins manufactured specifically for hair growth.

Almond Oil, use almond oil which will strengthen your hair and stop it falling, apply it to your scalp before washing and rinse out with shampoo. Your hair will be healthier. People loose up to 100 hairs a day anyway it may just be normal.
