Patches of hair loss.?

My twenty four year old son noticed a bald patch on the back of his head a few weeks ago. It was about the size of a fifty pence piece.

It has doubled in size now, and is really noticeable. I really don't think it is stress related, as he is still at home with me and decent paid job, girlfriend etc. Any ideas what could be causing this.Patches of hair loss.?
your son, most likely, has alopecia areata, an autoimmune disorder in which the body fights its own hair shafts. The cause for developing this disease is not known, but occasionally is associated with other autoimmune diseases, such as a form of anemia, vitiligo, or thyroid disease. As a rule, the first time that people develop this problem usually have the hair regrow spontaneously. If they develop the disease again, the chances of spontaneous regrowth diminishes. I'm concerned about your son,though, as his disease seems to be progressive. In that case, injections of cortisone into the bald areas can often make the hair regrow. Please have him see his local dermatologist.Patches of hair loss.?
as we know - hair loss can be caused by many different reasons! There are many causes of loss of hair such as stress, poor nutrition ,medications, thyroid dysfunctions, illness, fungal infections ,hormonal problems, to mention a few.

year ago my husband suffered very much from dandruff and hair loss too and he started trying everything you can imagine to stop his hair loss. the things that really worked for him was:

1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice (you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

5) also he used herbal treatment - TrichoZed and Provilluss (do not use Rogaine - it will not work!)

Those are a good products that helps prevent hair loss and contains Biotin and the clinically tested ingredients approved by the FDA to help re-grow your hair.! I think it is very important!

It worked and still works for him!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry TrichoZed and Provillus but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here

and here

It enhances hair growth by blocking DHT (Dihydrotestostrone) - a major cause of hair loss!

HI,

I would go to the doctor just to get it checked out, it could be a condition called alopecia. This is where hair loss appears in round circles rather than just thinning hair. My friend had this when he was about your son's age, however the hair all grew back and there were no other symptoms. It doesn't neccessarily have to be stress related it could just be down to genetics.

Hope this helps.
It could be alopecia more here -%26gt;

Although at 24 it could well be the onset of standard male pattern baldness. (I started loosing mine at 26 :-( I don't ware that hat as a fashion statement!)

If he is really worried he should see a doctor
