What causes hair loss?

I have a what some people would consider a huge bunch of hair and some people say that people with more hair will have greater hair loss. But I feel that my hair loss isn't normal. I mean when I tie up my hair I feel that it is lesser than before. But it is not in clumps or whatever it's just general thinner all over. Can someone tell me what can cause this and how to stop it?What causes hair loss?
Hair loss is something that is normally associated with men, but the truth is that as many as 1 in 4 women suffer from hair loss of some sort. And, while the appearance of it is not normally as obvious as it is in men, nonetheless it undoubtedly has more of an effect on the self esteem; especially if it gets so thin that you can see the scalp. But what causes hair loss in women?





There can be several factors, and one of the fist places that can be looked at is diet. If your diet is lacking in vitamins and minerals then this is going to effect your hair (and also your general well being); so the answer to this is ditch the fast food and eat more fresh food. But, additionally there are certain vitamins you really need to boost and they are B6 and B7. By far though the thing that causes hair loss in women is hormones, particularly for menopausal women. The reason for this is that male pattern baldness is caused by testosterone mixing with 5 alpha reductase which then creates a new hormone called DHT. This DHT then attaches to the follicle and stops hair growth. Women also create testosterone in their bodies but for the majority of their lives the estrogen they produce keeps it under control. The problem starts to occur when there is not as much estrogen being produced because this means that there is more free testosterone in the blood, which then leads to higher amounts of DHT which in turn leads to hair loss.What causes hair loss?
