My cat has lost a few patches of fur recently. It was just a small patch on her back leg about a week ago and we thought it might be an allergy or overgrooming (she got out about a week ago so thought maybe allergy to something). I had mixed a couple of batches of Iodophor for sanatizing (we homebrew) about the time that we noticed this patch. Now there are a couple of other patches of fur missing and we are trying to research what could be the problem. We just made another batch of Iodopohor this weekend so as we are researching possible causes we are also ruling things out and I cant help thinking the Iodophor fumes may have been the culprit.
Before I get a thousand ppl telling me to take her to the vet I'll add that we are going at 9am tomorrow.
Just trying to find out if Iodophor fumes could be a possible cause of my cat's hair loss.
Thanks for the thoughts.Cat possibly allergic to Iodophor fumes?
Your cat is not allergic to iodophor fumes. The signs and symptoms you have described are not the signs and symptoms of a allergy in mammals.
