Can exposure to paint fumes cause hair loss?

I've been painting my flat for the past 2 weeks and have noticed itching on myscalp. Later on I notices a small bald spot. Could this be the result of continuos exposure to the fumes?Can exposure to paint fumes cause hair loss?
