I turned 16 in September. I use to have the most thickest hair before and i would get it cut and thinned every month. Now its getting thinner each month. My hair loss started back in July. I haven't gone to see a doctor yet because of financial problems. I have lost about 50% of my hair right now and its still falling out. I did dye my hair in June but i doubt that's the problem. Also to make things worst I did lose my virginity at the beginning of June. I got tonsillitis 2 days after it happened. So is it an STD or is their another problem to this.HELP! What is causing my hair to fall out?
if hair loss is serious at your age you need to get a blood test to determine cause and if heavy metals present in blood. Did you change diet or take any chemicals lately, buy new dishes or pottery, change cosmetics etc.? Losing virginity should not cause hair loss or tonsillitis but if concerned about STD sounds like you did not use protection so you could have other problems but not a cause of hair loss.HELP! What is causing my hair to fall out?
A low thyroid function (hypothyroidism) can cause your hair to fall out. Sometimes a viral infection, such as Mono, can cause the thyroid to get out of whack. A blood test would confirm if yours was not right. The lab tests the TSH, T3, T4, and T7 levels to determine what your particular readings are.
Dieting, with too few calories consumed each day, and stress can also be a factor with hair loss.
Good luck! I hope you find an answer. This is no fun, especially not knowing the cause.
