Looking for ideas on what might be going on in boyfriend's head?

My boyfriend and I met about 2 years ago when I was hired where he already worked. When we first started dating he obviously took care of himself. His room wasn't spotless but it was neat enough. He kept up on shaving, kept his hair cut, and did things on his day off. He has since moved on and works for another company and had his year anniversary there this october.


My problem is that since then he seems to have lost himself. He's gained a lot of weight, he stays in his room all day playing video games on his day off. If he goes somewhere he just throws on his uniform that he wore the day before that's now all grungy and gross, hardly changes his underwear or socks %26amp; he's slacked off on taking care of his personal appearance and hygiene to the point that sex has no appeal to me anymore.


We had a fight about 3 months back that caused some problems. I found after the fight that during it he had texted a friend's girlfriend's friend and told her she was cute. He said it was because he thought we were over. I told him we would separate and he could decide if it was worth it or not.


I've given him a second chance now but he's not the same. He's very negative all the time, especially first thing in the morning and really critical of everyone else around him, even if he has done some of the things he complains about them doing. He gives unsolicited advice and when he realizes hes rubbed people the wrong way he pretty much says they can screw off, %26amp; he thinks hes the expert on everything. Even if you know you are right due to experience or education or whatever, he can't even say maybe you're right, its no I know this and you're wrong and he won't give it up until you say yeah ok you're right or something similar.


I don't know what to do. This is not the guy I fell for. I don't know if its a phase I can help him through or if this is the true him and I should cut my losses. Any thoughts?Looking for ideas on what might be going on in boyfriend's head?
