Why would a 14 year old girl's hair start falling out?

I am 14 and within the last few months I have noticed that every time I shower or run my fingers through my hair pieces always come out. Now it not so much short, broken pieces from dry or damaged hair but full length from the root. But it seems that recently more and more has been falling out. My family has a history of Lupus if that could mean anything. Any ideas of what could cause this? Are there any diseases that are associated with hair loss? Thanks! Why would a 14 year old girl's hair start falling out?
Stress can cause your hair to fall out. Look up some good ways to manage your stress and talk to your parents about seeing a doc.Why would a 14 year old girl's hair start falling out?
I have no idea about the Lupus, but I do know that thyroid may have something to do with it. Also stress can be a big factor. There are a couple more issues that she may be having. Does she have spots of baldness anywhere? It could be a form of balding, a lot of women get it, usually due to stress as well. Good luck. I would definatly talk to the dr about it they will have more insight. There are other diseases. My girlfriend has Chrones disease and she has fine hair falling out, but Im not sure if that is from the meds or a condition of the actual disease. Please talk to your doctor. Hopefully it is nothing, but just to be safe.
Oh ah, seem that you are very concern about yourself, You SHOULD talk to your mother about in history, or go talk to the doctor immediately.

Really, LOT of ZILLION teenager girls, always felling out because grow up, and sampoo and conditor everyday EVERYDAY, need stop do everyday, two or three every day, that why cause brush make falling lots. That was happen to me before, I stopped it, now my hair not falling anymore, maybe 5 to 6 hair fall that it.
It could be hormonal, a vitamin deficiency - every few months we go through a natural 'shedding' process where we 'shed'. If you have a dry scalp, that can also cause shedding.

It could be a number of things, I suggest you go to your DR. and start with some blood tests to get nutrients and hormones tested and start from there.
Do you die your hair alot? That could make it be like that. Check with your doc.
