24 years old and hair falling out, and it's not hereditary. HELP!?

I got out of the Marines 6 months ago and have not gotten a haircut since I got out. My hair is about 4 inches long on the top and a little shorter on the side. Every time I am in the shower washing my hair I lose about 10 hairs every single time I run my hand through my head, and even if I am not in the shower and run my hand through my hair I'll lose 4 or 5 follicles.

I'm only 24 years old, no one in my family tree has a history of baldness.

I was diagnosed by 3 different VA doctors as having PTSD for the stuff I wish I could forget that happened in Iraq, clinical depression and severe anxiety attacks, which causes insomnia. Can any of this be contributing to my hair loss?

I take Celexa 60mg, Prazosin 5mg, Valium 5mg, and ambien (forget what dose), could this be leading to my issue?

O yea if you are gonna tell me I need serious help, I know, I'm already seeing someone though24 years old and hair falling out, and it's not hereditary. HELP!?
Dear friend, Hair falling is a global problem. Reasons for hair falling are

i) Age,

ii)Heridity,

iii) Ofcoarse diseases

But the most imporatant factor is

iv)Poor Maintainance

Here are some maintainance tips:

Apply some fresh Aloevera on your hair and leave it for 30 minutes before your bath. Use it daily untill you stop hair falling. This is a great solution to hair falling and I found some new hair also in the places where i lost the hair before years.

Tips to maintain a shining healthy hair:

1. Use a conditioner less shampoo and use to rinse your hair every day.

2. keep it always clean. that is very much important. Wash hair every time you sweat.

3. Always stimulate the skin beneath your hair while you take bath.

4. Don't use so many chemicals and beauty products on your hair. Use herbal products.24 years old and hair falling out, and it's not hereditary. HELP!?
Maybe it could be the medication, but I was once told that you will notice more hair falling out if you don't get regular trims (every 6-8 weeks). And since you're going on 6 months, maybe that could be it? But its normal to lose 50-100 hairs per day anyway...
Mike,it's normal to lose at least 100-150 hairs a day.Hair grows at least 1/2 inch a month and it grows slower in winter than summer time.Nutrition plays a vital part in our hair, make sure you are eating as healthy as you can.Stress can cause hair to fall out.I suggest using Loreal sulfate free shampoo.95% of the commercial shampoos on the market today contain sulfate which is a detergent which has been shown to cause hair loss.I take Omega fish oil capsules and a good vitamin B complex as well as vitamin E and some people will also take Biotin to help aid with their hair.Hope this will help you out,Tomb Raider.
