Hair loss insecurity is ruining my relationship?

Okay so I'm 21 and im losing my hair. Ive been losing it since maybe 16 years old.





I currently have a girl friend and im extremely insecure about my hair. weve been together for about a year and I dont think she knows im losing my hair yet..I can style it so that I cover up the bald spots. and we hang out inside so it doesnt really get messed up. Ill hang out with her at night or something so she wont see the sun shine through my scalp etc..im very careful about it. But now the summer is coming up and were alot more serious then we were before and she wants to spend more time with me like going to the beach when it gets warm or going places which means itll be windy and that will ruin my hair.





Im so afraid of her finding out that i keep trying to break up with her. I borke up with her last night but shes not like letting me. I dont have a good reason to do it. Like i cant say ';im going bald'; cause thats really hard for me. And i think she can do so much better. for instance her ex boyfriend was a very good looking guy with a full head of hair and i think if she finds out that im losing my hair, shell go back to him anyway.





I dont know what to do. I dont want to be put in that situation where I have to tell her. I mean shes only 18 and she wont understand. Her friends have these hot boy friends and I dont want her to be the one with the bald boy friend.Hair loss insecurity is ruining my relationship?

Ok, if you've been dating this girl for a year, she may already be aware that you are losing your hair. Breaking up with her because of something that you have no control over is silly. If you want to continue the relationship then you need to be honest with her. If she cares about you at all then it won't matter. Hey, if I can tell people I'm bald then you can - and I'm a woman. Get over it.
Some people like bald. Anyway, if you care about her, she deserves to know the truth and decide. I know it is hard for you, esp if she does break up because of that, but chances are that she won't and there's a good chance you don't hide it as well as you think. She probably already knows.





There's lots of things you could do like wear ball caps or shave it all off. I know lots of guys that have done that.
