I'm seventeen going on eighteen. I have been having hair loss for a while, at first i thought i was ';shedding'; but i slowly realized that it should have stopped. I've had a history of low iron for a long time now.
So i got a letter in the mail from the hospital that says that my testosterone. it said that i could possible have PCOS, then i began to research causes of high testosterone could be caused by low iron levals. Correct me if im wrong.Iron affects testosterone which causes hair loss?
The high testosterone levels associated with PCOS are not because of the low iron. PCOS is a very complicated disorder, it isn't simply that you have some cysts. There is a whole syndrome that goes along with it. Obesity, dry skin, high blood sugars, bad menstrual cramping, etc. If you have heavy menstrual bleeding, which could be associated with PCOS as well, that is what is causing your low iron levels. You need to see a gyn who is really good at dealing with PCOS so you get the best outcome. You may also have low thyroid, which is another thing associated with PCOS, and that alone will contribute to low iron and definitely cause hair loss.Iron affects testosterone which causes hair loss?
Here a few simple home remedies which can be tried at home to control hair fall.
1.Rinse your hair with a mix of apple cider vinegar and sage tea this helps hair grow..
2. A medicine rich in sulfur is also recommended as sulfur plays an important part in the structure of the hair.
3. Massage with olive oil before going to bed at night and next morning, wash off the hair gently..
4. To treat hair loss apply a little lemon juice with some black tea.Massage well and shampoo.
5. Beat two eggs, and add two tablespoons of water to it. Rinse hair and pour the egg mixture over the hair.Massage the scalp well and leave for 10 minutes. Then wash it.
I have low iron and I loose hair often. I'm a girl though.. But girls have testosterone too right? Okay anways I know that you can loose hair because of low iron for suree but I don't know anything about the testosterone.
