This is quite a ';delicate'; issue, if you understand. I don't know whether to leave it be %26amp; see if it fades, or whether I should discuss it with someone.
Quite a while ago, I posted a question about finding a swelling in the intimate area. At the time, it looked quite like a blister - puffy and tender, with no distinct shape (wasn't quite round). I was worried at the time, as it was the first time that something like that happened and the only reason I could come up with was a swollen lymph-gland (I asked my mother about this, who was a nurse a few years ago %26amp; she said it might be possible, as I'd been a bit ill around then) My second thought was that it was down to my hormones running riot, as I'm pretty sure that I'd just come off my period.
At the time, my mother and I agreed that if the swelling stayed any longer than a few days - or was still there in a week - I would go %26amp; see a doctor about it, just to check. By night, however, it had vanished, and never returned.
Something similar occurred more recently, when I found something else. It wasn't puffy like the last time - this time, it was more like a spot. However, I'm not sure how common spots are on the softer skin - which was where this was located. I put it down to a swollen or infected gland, as it was quite round and firm. This took a while to heal, though it was gone in about a week. Again, this was around the time of my period - I forget if it started during or just after.
Now, I'm in a similar position, yet again. I've just come of my period, as with the other cases. A day or two ago, I found a small spot-like lump just near the top of my thigh (not quite on the labia majora, though close) At first, I put this down to either a spot, given it's normal skin, or an in-grown hair/irritated hair follicle (I've taken to wearing layers to keep out the cold - it wouldn't surprise me if the friction from tight clothing hasn't irritated something)
However, tonight, I just found 2 more swellings. These are located further on the ';inside';, where the more delicate skin is, so I don't really want to interfere with them too much, in case I damage something. Both are quite swollen and red-looking - though this might be due to my probing around while getting a look at them. One is further in than the other, as one is situated between the inside %26amp; outside (where the skin type changes) They're smaller than the first lump - they look more like an insect bite, though I doubt that's the cause, due to my many layers of clothing (plus, I don't think any biting-insects are around these days, in this cold)
Anyone got any ideas what's going on? Should I worry? These are the only times that this has happened - I'm wondering whether there's some external reason for it (like diet effecting PMT etc) I've not heard of this happening in many people, so I'm at a loss for what to do.
I'm mainly asking since I don't want to get worried over something that may fade away before I get to see a doctor about it, nor do I want to pester my mother about this sort of thing every time it happens (it's happened 3 times now - might be nice to know if this is a new regular occurrence)
If it's of any use, I'm not sexually active %26amp; have good hygiene (though not to excess, as I'm aware that washing too much in that area can sometimes do more harm than good).
Sorry if the details freaked anyone out but I'd really like a helpful answer %26amp; I didn't see how I could achieve that by being vague.
P.S: Another thought - I use pads, so I'm wondering now whether I might suddenly develop a sort of negative reaction to the glue? I've been using pads for years %26amp; these problems have only come about recently, within the past couple of months, so I'm not sure how likely this may be. Plus, I don't know how this might effect the ';deeper'; areas, where the glue doesn't reach... (I don't have any allergies, I don't really know how reactions affect people)
Thanks for any help. If noone can answer, it would also be nice to see if anyone else has experienced this.
Thanks.Personal problems - something to worry about or just nature running riot?
It may be a Bartholin's gland cysts. The Bartholin's gland is a tiny organ on your labia. Normally they are invisible. They make a small amount of fluid that lubricates the vaginal lips. If a flap of skin grows over the opening of one of the glands, the fluid backs up. It causes a cyst.
I get them often after my period too, i put a hot cloth on it so it will drain. Once, I had to have my doctor drain it though. They can get very big if you don't take care of it.
If it's not that and you have EVER been sexually active or even abused it could be herpies or HPV.Personal problems - something to worry about or just nature running riot?
I've checked out every diet known to mankind but nothing worked as good as acai berry. I know they say that pills don't work, but they definitely worked for me, and they have been showcased on CBS News too. There is a free trial happening currently at http://wosang.optimalfitness.info , why not try it, what's the worst that could happen?
I suggest that u see a Doctor, i once had that and was given antibiotics to take 4 times a day for 7days.
This is obviously worrying and stressing you out. Make an appointment with a female doctor not a nurse they dont know what they are on about. A doctor will give you good advice and treat you there an then. Explain everything you just said and get it sorted once an for all. With peace of mind, you will feel much better.
