Reason for excess Hair shedding?

I'm 16 yr old guy and Ive recently been shedding more hair than usual. About 3 months I had an extremely dry scalp for about a month and I was wondering if this could lead to hair loss. I also take medication for my acne and thought this could contribute to the sudden increase in shedding. I personally don't think it is male pattern baldness cause all the men in my family show little to no signs of it.

The acne medicine could be contributing.but it is likely an endocrine problem{Of course some acne is endocrine related}. Probably thyroid.The health of hair is directly related to total health. See your doctor. You will need lab tests...
