Side effects from mirena?

I had the mirena IUD placed after the birth of my son in October 2008. I have experienced some conditions and I suspect they are caused from the mirena. Major hair loss!!, acne and much more. I have done a lot of research on the internet and I have all the same side effects as other woman describe. I dont know if it is the mirena or something else...? Anyone else with the same experience or information? Thanks.Side effects from mirena?
Death is a common side effect???? What kind of crap is that? It is not, I have the Mirena IUD in right now and last time I checked I'm not dead. Anyways the only thing I can think of that could help is calling your doctor and telling them everything that is going on with it. I ended up having PID but it could have been from the IUD being placed and bacteria getting in or from childbirth and bacteria that way. They may suggest a different type of IUD or form of birth control if it's not working out right. Hope this helps!Side effects from mirena?
Hey, that sounds awful what you are going through. I have had my mirena for 8 weeks now and it is strange you mention this, because BEFORE I had it inserted I was having acne problems, weight problems( losing weight really slowly and put on weight if i even looked at food) , felt constantly hormonal. Since having it I feel so much more calmer and I have lost nearly a stone through just eating what I ate before, my pmt has basically gone - lol my partner doesnt even recognise me. Obviously everyone is different and it could be that the hormone is messing with your own and causing an imbalance - hormone imbalances cause things like hairloss, acne, mood swings, bleeding problems, weight problems etc etc. So your maybe best talking to your doctor. The paraguard copper IUD may be a better option for you since it has no hormone. Although the mirena has a small amount of hormone - just a slight imbalance of hormones and crazy symptoms can occur. Obviously unless you were seeing a gynae/ob then you may not be able to identify which type of hormone imbalance you are having such as estrogen dominance, progesterone dominance etc. You should maybe read up on them because it can help you identify which type of problem is occuring. It may not be the mirena itself is causing a problem it may be that your hormones are adjusting. There are many remedies etc for hormone imbalance - including estrogen creams you put around your abdomen, to specific tablets etc. It is worth looking in to if you want to keep your mirena, if not you maybe should change to paraguard.

*Like lady bug i developed pelvic inflammatory disease also - i had an infected fallopain tube :S - the doc said it was probably because i had never had kids and first time that area was ';open'; to infection/bacteria.
