I have not seen him paying attention to this area so I doubt he is causing it. There have been no changes or stresses on him and his behavior hasn't changed either, food is the same. He's about 10 years old or so and still an active outdoor cat with no other problems. Although, he hasn't been out lately since we a full on with winter here in Ottawa.
I tried googling but nothing firm comes up. Any ideas? What is the cause of my cat's fur loss?
I had the same problem with my cat, what it could be is the food you feed him could be causing an allergy with the older age. If you are feeding like meow mix or something you get at a grocery store it has a lot of corn in it which caused the allergy in my cat. You can try finding a grain free food or try the food Natural Balance. You will have to go to the Natural Balance website and find out what store around you has it. but i bed it will help. and if it doesn't its a very healthy food for your cat.
