Do i have depression?

These are my symptoms:

Headaches and stomach pains frequently

Irritability

Feeling worthless

Sleeping a lot

Lack of energy / feeling fatigued

Crying often for no apparent reason

Loss of sex drive

Distancing myself from loved ones

Avoiding social situations because I no longer enjoy them

No motivation

Restlessness

Anxiety

Not wanting to see my friends anymore, making excuses so I don鈥檛 have to.

No desire to do anything, even little things like doing my hair, getting dressed etc.

No tolerance for people anymore, which makes me distance myself.

Feeling guilty

On Monday i had a very severe breakdown and i cried until i was so physically weak i fell asleep. There was no reason for it, it just happened.

It was that breakdown that made me start thinking about all the other things i had been feeling over the past couple of months, so i listed them (above)

Is it possible that i have depression even though it has only been a couple of days since the first breakdown. some of my symptoms have been happening for months (loss of sex drive, constantly being tired, headaches and stomach pains, not wanting to see friends, no motivation) but ones like : crying a lot etc don't happen that often. i have more physical symptoms i guess, but the friends thing and the no motivation thing and the being tired thing led me to think of depression!

What do u think?

I am seeing a doctor this weekend. Should i wait a couple of weeks before i do that or are the symptoms i have been feeling for a while enough to cause concern?Do i have depression?
I like your name

Anyways, no you shouldn't wait to go to the doctor. Its pretty obvious you have depression. A lot of people with depression think they can fight it without medication and that is crazy talk. Medication makes depression so much easier to deal with and side effects are usually mild. Depression just gets worse the longer you don't do anything about it.Do i have depression?
You need to see a psychologist. Only a psychologist is qualified to diagnose depression, but your symptoms are very consistent with a depressive problem. The sooner you take care of this problem the better off you and those around you will be.
You have a lot of symptoms of depression but only a professional can diagnose you. Bring a list of your symptoms to your doctor this weekend, the symptoms are more than enough to cause concern. Good luck :)
I would ask the doctor to also check your thyroid levels as you have plenty of the symptoms.
